DESCRIPTION:The June Lansing Economic will welcome Michigan State University President Kevin M. Guskiewicz who will reflect on his first 100 days as Michigan State University's president and discuss his vision of working together as one team to foster a culture of collaboration and partnerships. He will also discuss top-of-mind priorities\, including positioning MSU as an engine that powers Michigan's economy.More About MSU President Kevin M. Guskiewicz:Kevin M. Guskiewicz\, Ph.D.\, is a neuroscientist and academic leader who assumed the presidency of Michigan State University on March 4\, 2024.Since he arrived at MSU\, Guskiewicz has embarked on a 48-stop listening and learning tour of the university's colleges and administrative units. The tour is a key component of his work to help identify an institutional "true north" that will lead MSU to provide the best education and workplace culture for Spartans and bold service to the public in the land-grant tradition.He previously served as chancellor of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a nationally recognized expert on sport-related concussions. His research team's groundbreaking work influenced concussion guidelines in the NFL and NCAA.In 2011\, Guskiewicz received the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship for his innovative work on the diagnosis\, treatment and prevention of sport-related concussions.
