SUMMARY
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a key role in both HR strategy and employee support for all Peckham’s employees. The HRBP is responsible for developing relationships with lines of business leaders in addition to all levels of employees. The incumbent will understand the talent needs as well as execute the day-to-day functions of Human Resources. The primary focus of this position is to provide outstanding customer service in recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, HR compliance, training, and employee engagement.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
BENEFIT ADMINISTRATION
- Partner with the lines of business to understand and address the questions of staff and team members regarding all benefits
- Connect with new staff and team members during open enrollment by conducting benefit orientations and individualized meetings
- Process insurance starts, changes, and terminations
- Administer short- and long-term disability claims
- Answer questions related to retirement
- Serve as a liaison to the Employee Assistance Program
COMPLIANCE
- Support the Safety and Wellbeing Specialist
- Support employee relations investigations and complaints process as assigned
- Serve as a subject matter expert on company policies and state employment practices
- Facilitate Interactive Process and manage the ADA process
- Administer Leave of Absences including FMLA
- Assist in investigations and answer EEOC charges and other concerns
- Process unemployment claims as assigned
EMPLOYEE RECRUITMENT & ONBOARDING
- Partner with corporate talent acquisition team and lines of business to evaluate open positions and actively work to fill positions with qualified candidates
- Participate in interviews and help choose the most qualified candidates
- Provide local support for onboarding and integration of new employees
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
- Partner with corporate Employee Engagement Specialist and line of business to develop and implement an action plan to support an improved employee engagement program
- Provide updates on the engagement of Peckham staff to the HR team
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in Mission Engagement Experiences (MEe)
- Provide mentorship and coaching
- Work effectively and positively with other Peckham teams
- Promote Peckham’s vision, values, and services to all customers and stakeholders and do so in an energetic and engaging manner
- Utilize a teamwork approach for all projects
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a people-focused role including employee relations, admin or customer service
- High proficiency in HRIS systems
- Flexibility to provide coverage in multiple lines of business
- Ability to travel between locations as needed
- 3 years experience working in a field where the main role was helping others
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of HR experience
- A Bachelor’s degree or SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
- Ability to speak fluently in Spanish
- Experience with employment law
- Experience with OFCCP
- Experience working with people with disabilities and impairments
- Experience with Workday
