This is a hybrid position, both in-office and remote.

Job Summary: To manage all aspects of statutory accounting, compliance, and regulatory reporting.

Primary Job Responsibilities

1. 
Manages the statutory and regulatory reporting process to the state insurance departments and other regulatory agencies. Develops, recommends and enforces policies procedures and guidelines.

2. Manages all aspects of the investment accounting and reporting process including ensuring compliance with state investment restrictions.

3. Monitors and resolves regulatory issues with state regulatory agencies.

4. Monitors National Association of Insurance Commissioners activity and implements changes.

5.Coordinates audits by State Departments of Insurance.

6. Participates in the company’s business development in insurance business by providing statutory financial projections and other regulatory requirements.

7. Conducts regulatory and non-regulatory research and financial analysis.

8. Assists external auditors with interim and annual audit review.

9. Interviews, hires, evaluates, directs and develops staff. Ensures accountability for achievement of departmental goals and objectives.

Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above.

Position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, eight years of statutory reporting and/or statutory accounting auditing experience with a minimum of two years of leadership experience. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.

Position requires advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and statutory accounting principles; ability to analyze and interpret technical laws, regulations and rulings; advanced analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills, advanced leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with senior level management, resolve complex problems and use independent judgment.
