Welders play a key role in Granger’s exceptional customer service experience by repairing and maintaining our trash and recycling containers and other equipment. Daily container repairs, working on special projects and effective communication with our driving and operations team are all essential daily tasks for the effective collection and management of trash and recycling materials.

Accountabilities include the following:
•Perform welding tasks (MIG and TIG) in various positions: flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead
•Inspect welds for quality and specifications, including bead size
•Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces
•Weld metal parts together using a combination of arc welding processes
•Conduct thermal cutting, grinding and other related tasks
•Position and clamp metal components for welding, ensuring accurate alignment
•Measure materials and plan layout assembly for welding tasks
•Operate cutting torches, plasma cutters and electric bandsaws
•Complete necessary documentation, such as work logs and reports
•Use a forklift to maneuver containers for painting and repairs (forklift training can be provided).
•Serves a lead or mentor for entry level welders


Hours & Schedule
•Monday – Friday (Occasional Saturdays)
•6 a.m. – 3 p.m.


Requirements
•Completion of welding school or equivalent training.
•Minimum 1 year of welding experience, including proficiency in MIG and TIG welding
•Basic knowledge of thermal cutting and grinding processes
•Valid driver’s license required
•Forklift experience is preferred, along with the ability to obtain certification if necessary.
