Dr. Ashley Baker, Vice President of DEIB at MSUFCU, will share about what it takes from an organization to uplift and support an environment where all feel welcome, and the impact on the culture of an organization. More About Dr. Ashley Baker: 

Dr. Ashley Baker is the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging for MSUFCU where she leads the DEIB unit. Prior to MSUFCU she served as the Associate Athletics Director for Culture and Strategy and Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for Michigan State University Athletics. She holds a B.A. in Business and a M.Ed. in Sport Administration from Bowling Green State University, and a Ph.D. in Sport Management and Policy from the University of Georgia.

While at MSU, she developed and implemented the departments 3-year DEI strategic plan. Under her leadership the department participated in over 1,000 hours of DEI education and training, established new campus and community partnerships, conducted a comprehensive audit to reassess equity of pay and benefits, increased engagement within their student affinity groups, and launched the annual Spartan Conversation.

Before joining the Spartans, she worked at Xavier University of Louisiana in two capacities. Most recently serving as the inaugural Chief Inclusion Officer and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for the Division of Student Affairs. She began at Xavier as a senior administrator in the athletics department where she oversaw the internal business operations, coordinated academic support, and managed gameday operations. Her early career was spent at Bowling Green State University where she led the Office of Student Athlete Services.
