Tuesday, February 11, 2020 (11:30 AM - 1:30 PM) (EST)

Description

JoAnne Bland, co-founder and former director, National Voting Rights, will serve as the featured speaker for the February Lansing Regional Chamber Economic Club. The event will take place Feb. 11 from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. Bland has been a witness and participant in some of the nation’s most consequential civil rights battles. Bland marched on "Bloody Sunday" and "Turn Around Tuesday," and the first leg of the successful March from Selma to Montgomery. She was also one of seven Black students to integrate A.G. Parish High School. Bland’s early involvement in the struggle against Jim Crow has been the foundation for her civil and human rights work throughout her life.

The Lansing Regional Chamber Economic Club speaker series features local and nationally prominent speakers that cover a broad spectrum of business-related topics, ranging from economic trends and business success stories to the latest in management and leadership techniques. The Lansing Economic Club luncheons provide members with an excellent opportunity to network with hundreds of the area's community, business and education leaders.
