Lansing Economic Club
Tuesday, December 8, 2026 (11:30 AM - 1:30 PM) (EST)
Description
Please note: This event has been rescheduled from Thursday, December 17, to Tuesday, December 8.
Planning for 2027 means making decisions about hiring, pricing, and investment without knowing where interest rates, inflation, or federal policy will land. The Lansing Economic Club’s signature end of year program, Economic Outlook for the Year Ahead, gives business leaders a clear read on the conditions ahead from one of the most trusted voices on the U.S. economy.
Meet the Speaker: Curtis Dubay, Chief Economist, U.S. Chamber of Commerce
At the U.S. Chamber, Dubay tracks economic conditions, analyzes how public policy affects growth, and leads the Chief Economists Committee. The committee brings together chief economists from member businesses to shape the Chamber’s economic policy and advise policymakers in Washington, D.C.
Before joining the U.S. Chamber, Dubay was senior economist at the American Bankers Association, where he covered tax issues and economic trends in banking. Before that, he was a research fellow in tax and economic policy at The Heritage Foundation. Earlier in his career, he worked in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ transfer pricing division and at the Tax Foundation. At the Tax Foundation, he wrote three widely cited reports: Tax Freedom Day, State-Local Tax Burdens, and the State Business Tax Climate Index.
He appears regularly on CNBC, Fox Business, Fox News, and C-SPAN, and has testified before Congress several times. His analysis has been cited in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, and Politico.
Dubay holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor’s degree in economics and leadership studies from the University of Richmond.
