A Nod to Mod by Andrew Sandstedt

Andrew Sandstedt’s A Nod to Mod is an homage to the rough textures of brutalist architecture and the bold, yet simple lines of his favorite childhood home, a 1950s Eichler style ranch house. Featuring mixed media and sculptures composed of reclaimed elements, A Nod to Mod was born from the joy the artist finds in fusion and the creation of new from old. A celebration of time-weathered patinas, asymmetry, and jagged edges, Sandstedt invites the viewer to abandon any ideas of the necessity of perfection and to find their own meaning in the dialogue between materials crafted in past and present.

This exhibition will be on display at Nelson Gallery through April 25, 2026. An opening reception will be held on March 5th.
