Empty Plate Strolling Dinner & Auction
Thursday, April 9, 2026 (5:30 PM - 8:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
For more than 18 years, the greater Lansing community has gathered to support Greater Lansing Food Bank’s (GLFB) mission through the Empty Plate strolling dinner and auction. Guests return year after year and are reminded each time how powerful fighting hunger can be when we do it together, surrounded by colleagues, family and friends. Attendees this year will enjoy:
A Spirited Silent Auction
Browse and bid on one-of-a-kind items, experiences, and packages from fan-favorite local businesses. This year, we’re excited to debut an entirely online auction; register on your mobile phone to access the auction early & bid without leaving your table! Not tech savvy? No problem! Our on-site tech support will ensure your experience is simple and stress-free.
A Delicious Strolling Dinner
Savor a diverse culinary selection of small plates from local favorites Catersmith and Edmunds's Pastime, Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center, One North Kitchen & Bar, The State Room and University Club of MSU.
Reflect on 45 Years of Impact
As you browse the auction, you will also be invited to explore GLFB’s history and growth. Read inspiring stories from our founders and travel through time as you learn how the food bank has evolved alongside our community to meet neighbors’ evolving needs.
A Commemorative Plate
Take home a complimentary “empty plate” decorated by local children, thanks to our friends at Art Unlimited.
The First Annual Founders Reception
Join us for an exclusive hour of appetizers, refreshments and networking with fellow supporters before Empty Plate.
During this time, we are excited to present the Founders Award to special guests in recognition of their contributions to our organization and community.
Main event tickets are $150; Founders Reception tickets are $250 and include entry to the main event.
Event doors open at 5:30 PM. The Founders Reception begins at 4:30 PM and ends at 5:30 PM.
