Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Series: Everyday Practices for Creating a Culture of Inclusion and Belonging

Wednesday, April 26, 2023 (10:00 AM - 11:30 AM) (EDT)

Description

Following the George Floyd incident in 2020, many organizational leaders espoused bold visions and plans to increase representation of underrepresented groups, and to create a culture of inclusion within their organizations. However, outside of the executive and senior management ranks, employees are often left with little practical guidance about their role in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion within their organizations. What does DEI mean to the average employee in an organization? How can employees help to create a culture of inclusion regardless of their position in their organization? This presentation answers these questions.

First, Dr. Vernon A Woodley will begin defining what we mean by diversity, equity and inclusion. Next, will articulate why DEI matters to every organization. Finally, will close by identifying and explicating 12 everyday actions that every employee can take to help create a culture of inclusion in their workplace.

Three reasons to attend:

1. Get practical suggestions and best practices for creating and sustaining an inclusive culture

2. Get answers to the question, what does DEI mean to the average employee in your organization

3. Learn how every employee can help to create a culture of inclusion regardless of their position in the organization
