Description
The June Lansing Regional Chamber Economic Club will be held on June 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center in East Lansing.
The event's featured speaker is Mark de la Vergne, vice president of project development at Cavnue. Mark works closely with transportation officials from across the country and local project stakeholders to build the roadmap for the future of their roads. During the presentation, Mark will discuss the rapid advancement of technology on vehicles and how the future of roads can accelerate the benefits of automated and autonomous vehicles. He will also provide an update on the MDOT/Cavnue Michigan project that was announced by Governor Whitner in 2020.
Mark de la Vergne previously served as the initial Michigan Director for Cavnue, launching the feasibility study for the nation’s first dedicated, connected automated laneway. Before joining Cavnue, Mark served as Mayor Duggan’s Chief of Mobility Innovation, where he established the national blueprint for delivering resident-centered mobility innovation in a major city. He led the development of several major initiatives, including launching a regional fare pass with a mobile option, implementing some public-private partnerships with private mobility companies, and assisting with the growth of micro-mobility across the city.
Mark also led the national transportation planning practice of a boutique consulting firm, working with city leaders across the country to improve mobility and accessibility. Mark has a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
