Community Engagement and Events Specialist
SUCCESS IN THIS POSITION INCLUDES the following:
- Creates positive brand impressions across the communities Granger serves, supporting the brand promise and contributing to customer growth and retention
- Leads informative and engaging tours that highlight Granger’s vital role in management of waste, environmental protection and community service
- Delivers meaningful internal events that help associates feel valued and appreciated
- Contributes to the overall success of the Marketing Department by advancing departmental and company-wide goals

- Build and sustain positive relationships between Granger and the community
- Administer Granger’s corporate giving program, proactively seek new opportunities to demonstrate our support for the communities we serve and maximize the impact of Granger’s involvement in community causes
- Maintain a calendar of community events, manage our participation and ensure our presence aligns with Granger’s values and objectives 
- Manage the tour program for outside groups of all ages, creating safe, educational experiences that provide a positive brand impression
- Manage internal events for Granger associates with the support of an interdepartmental team
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with chambers of commerce, associations, local businesses, schools and other organizations to expand our reach and impact 
- Respond to inquiries, address concerns and provide information to maintain a positive image 
- Work closely with the entire Marketing Department to promote Granger’s image and brand within the community and company

- Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications or a related field and two years of relevant experience in community relations, event planning, communications or marketing
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience using Microsoft tools like Office 365, OneDrive, OneNote, Planner and Teams is desired
- Successful track record of planning and executing events, including collaboration with multiple parties, budget management, vendor coordination, etc.
- Other: Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
